Where I've Been

A list of countries I have been to over the years.

The Netherlands

[Currently I live Here]

My current location since 2021. I moved here, from Tunisia, for work.

Thailand

My last trip, my furthest trip East, and my longest flight.

I cannot say much about Thailand as I'm still suffering from post-thailand depression. It is a place where I see myself live most of the year.

My future plans are to transition into a digital nomad between Thailand and Vietnam (yet to visit).

Switzerland

I cannot say enough about this country. You must visit Switzerland at least once in your life!

The country is majestic. You cannot go wrong with anything you do there. Bonus: the people are amazing (German speaking regions where I've been most of the time).

Driving there is a dream experience.

Luxembourg

I went to Vianden due south. The city was cozy and had great architecture.

I tried the Chairlift for the first time in my life there. I was scared; I booked a round trip, but I didn't dare to use it on the way back.

I descended the hill walking; I enjoyed a cozy coffee on the way down and coincidentally witnessed a Dutch rally.

I spent half a day in Luxembourg City before I continued to my next destination. I walked a lot there.

France

Paris, no. I won't be around there again. At least with a car. Driving there was a nightmare.

However, I've been to the south, exactly at Carcassonne. For an old Age of Empire (and similar games) player, that city was like a dream that came true.

South of france is very unique region overall. I like the colors there, things look like a pastel painting.

Czech Republic

Prague is a remarkable city. It was my first international trip that I took. So it is a very special memory.

I like my trip a lot, exploring history artifacts from the soviet union was existence for someone such as myself who is interested about that era. The transportation system is great.

I also went outside Prague for field trips. The highlight was the "Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz" between the Czech Republic and Germany.

In Prague, I tried living in a hostel for the first time in my life.

Other places I've been to:

  • Portugal. I visited this country for Laracon 2023, in Lisbon. I really enjoyed the country. People were warm and food was great! I tried seafood (beyond fish) for the first time here, and surprisingly I liked it.
  • Germany. Although I'm a recurring traveler to Germany (to visit a relative), I didn't spend time vacationing and exploring around. It was strictly bound to family visits.
  • Belgium. I've been there twice, once for a company trip and another time to meet a friend. I don't think that I will be exited to go to Belgium again by car.
  • Spain. I've been there for business trip near Barcelona. There was a lot of tourists.
  • Italy. I visit it when I'm driving back to my home country Tunisia. I take the ferry from Genoa. I didn't vacation properly here, but I will never skipp the espresso from there.
