My AI Policy

I've developed a way to work with AI in an accountable and controlled way when using AI for coding. I'm not over hyped by it, however, I use it moderately. I call this approach Pilot Mode.

My routine with AI is largely summarized as follows:

• - I use it to for auditing and catching inconsistencies within a large codebase.
• - I use it to research, to analyse, or to explain vague/obscure code blocks.
• - I use to execute monotonous and time consuming repetitive code changes.
• - I use it to execute plans, that I've already architected. I do my own code hygiene afterwards.

Basically, for me, AI is my helpful assistant. I let it do what it really excels at, which is analysis and execution. I'm on top of it all the time, giving it blueprints and exact instructions what to do. Laying down the steps and plans to spell out what I expressed in a technical blueprint.

After each AI session, I make sure to review it fully and apply the necessary code hygiene. To keep it adhering to my coding spirit and to eliminate any gibberish it might have produced.

Researching with AI does not take way my own skills of finding things on my own. I've been on the internet for too long and did my share of "googling" properly. I still google things when it makes sense.
